WOODRUFF, S.C. (AP) — Police are trying to determine who is responsible for the “brutal” stabbing of a 68-year-old woman found dead inside her downtown Woodruff home.
Media outlets report that Julie Juanita Morgan was found dead Saturday from multiple stab wounds. Police say her body was lying in a pool of blood in the front hallway when her sister came home from work and made the discovery.
Woodruff Police Chief Alan Bledsoe says authorities have not determined a motive. He wouldn’t disclose whether anything was stolen from the home.
Morgan’s house sits next to the city’s library building and is one street away from its town hall and police department.
Woodruff police are asking those with information about the stabbing to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or 911.
