Man brings loaded gun into North Charleston church; faces judge

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A Folly Beach man who police say brought a loaded gun into a North Charleston church service faced a bond court judge, Tuesday morning.

Harold Kroninger, 23, is charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Authorities say just before Noon on February 4, officers responded to the Awakening Church on Leeds Ave in reference to an unknown male “acting nervous” during church service.

After locating Kroninger, a loaded 9mm handgun was found on him with one additional magazine.

The 23-year-old was taken into custody and admitted to a facility for mental evaluation.

He was given a $50,000 bond Tuesday, February 13.
