School bus driver transported to MUSC following accident on James Island

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) — Medics transported a school bus driver to the Medical University of South Carolina following a collision, Monday afternoon.

The accident happened at Central Park Road and Riverland Drive, according to authorities.

The driver of the school bus was shaken up and transported to MUSC, according to police spokesman Charles Francis.

None of the students onboard at the time of the incident was transported to the hospital.

There is minor damage to the school bus, Francis added.

The initial call for assistance came in at 3:20 p.m.
