Pedestrian struck and killed by Berkeley County Deputy’s vehicle

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – On Friday, February 9th, at approximately 9:35 p.m., 39 year old Robert Collins of Bonneau was walking in the roadway of Highway 52 north of Bonneau, where he was struck by a north bound Berkeley County Deputy Sheriff.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner George Oliver.

The death has been ruled accidental and was investigated by Chief Deputy Oliver and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
