CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Two West Ashley High School students arrested after a rifle and drugs in their vehicles at the school’s parking lot faced a bond court judge, Friday.
On Thursday school officials requested a K-9 sweep of the student parking lot, which yielded a gram of marijuana and a rifle in the car of Kyle Brett Salter, 17 and prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia in the car of 17-year-old Leslie Kahle.
Salter was charged with simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and having a weapon on school property. Kahle was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
At a bond hearing on February 2, Salter received a bond amount totally $11,080. He has since been released from jail, according to inmate records.
Leslie received a bond amount totally $2,465. She is still being held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center.
