Charleston S.C. – Six students in the Lowcountry are walking away with a new laptop for school this holiday season.
This morning Downtown Charleston, Mayor John Tecklenburg presented the laptops to the students at City Hall this morning.
The giveaway was made possible by the Computers with a Cause organization.
Dr. Bobby Baker, the founder, said he was inspired by the importance of enhancing the digital knowledge of our youth. He bought five laptops and reached out to Mayor Tecklenburg for help finding diverse students with academic promise and a need for a laptop.
Each laptop comes with a carrying case, mouse pad, mouse and thumb drive.
