N. Charleston, S.C. – SCE&G kicked off another year of giving back to the community.
The company delivered over 275 food baskets to low-income families in seven counties, including Charleston, Dorchester, Colleton, Beaufort, Jasper, Orangeburg and Hampton.
Today marked the company’s 35th year of giving back. SCE&G employees and retirees spent the morning filling brown bags with food and then loaded them on cars to be delivered.
The Good Neighbor Christmas Project is employee-funded and will also provide toys for over 150 families with children under the age of 14.Since 1982, more than 12,000 families have received donations, which exceed $4.5 million dollars.
Donations are based referrals by SCE&G employees.
