JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the person stabbed to death on Johns Island, Wednesday morning.
According to Deputy Coroner Brittney W. Martin, William L. Kennedy Jr., 51, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was stabbed multiple times.
Authorities responded to the 5700 block of Anglers Pond Road at 3:30 a.m. on December 6.
A witness told investigators that the suspect, who is an acquaintance of the victim, entered the home and began stabbing the victim while he was in bed.
Aloysius Hunter, 34, of Johns Island was arrested and is charged with murder. He’s currently being held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center.
Authorities are working to determine a motive.
