Suspect in Mt. Pleasant store robberies charged in West Ashley incidents

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCBD) — The man who police say is responsible for several drug store and convenience store robberies in Mount Pleasant is charged in connection with several robberies in West Ashley.

Christian James Lose, 49, is charged with attempted armed robbery, two counts of armed robbery, and three counts of weapons possessions charges.

Authorities say at about 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, an armed gunman entered Murphy’s Gas Station on Ashley Circle and demanded money from the cash register.

“A clerk refused to open the cash register and the suspect fled without getting any money,” according to a news release.

About an hour later, the man robbed the Rite-Aid at 1934 Ashley River Road.

On Sunday, November 26 at about 10:30 p.m., an armed gunman robbed the Sunoco at 737 Folly Road.

The suspect Description was similar to the attempted armed robbery and the armed robberies.
