Man shot outside Georgetown Walmart

A man was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina early Friday after he was shot outside the Walmart Super Center in Georgetown.

According to police, the shooting happened in the parking lot around 3 a.m.

The victim, identified as Roderick Anderson, told officers that he was shot after an argument with someone at a nearby gas station.

According to police, the suspect followed Anderson to Walmart and confronted him in the parking lot.  After a physical altercation, the suspect fired two shots into Anderson’s car.

Anderson drove to the hospital, where doctors say his wound is non-life threatening.  Eventually, he was taken to MUSC for observation.
