Crews respond to outside fire at Ladson Wood Recycling Center

LADSON, S.C. (WCBD) — Emergency personnel are responding to a reported fire in Ladson.

Authorities say on Thursday, May 18 at around 3:30 a.m., the North Charleston Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at 9421 HWY 78, North Charleston.

Crews found a 200 square foot pile of mulch, approximately 40 feet high burning.

We’re told the fire is contained. The fire department is now on scene working to separate the materials, so they can completely extinguish the fire.

There are no reported injuries and no damage to any structures.

Smoke will be visible throughout the day.
