Scene of reported fire in downtown Charleston now cleared

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A reported structure fire in downtown Charleston has been cleared, according to Charleston County Conslidated Dispatch.

The City of Charleston Fire Department responded to Elizabeth Street at Charlotte Street on Friday, May 12 at 7:19 a.m.

Dispatchers tell News 2 that the reported structure fire was in fact a false alarm. Firefighters left the scene at 7:34 a.m.
