Fire in Awendaw extinguished within 20 minutes, officials say

AWENDAW, S.C. (WCBD) — Fire crews extinguished a fire in Awendaw Thursday morning.

The Awendaw Fire Department responded to the 900 block of Gadsdenville Road at 7:15 on Thursday, April 20 to find flames coming from the roof and the back of a home.

Officials say the fire was under control within 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
