Man found shot to death in Moncks Corner

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) – Police in Moncks Corner are investigating after a man was found shot to death in the yard of a home.

Police Chief Ric Ollic told local media that officers were called to the home around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday for a burglary in progress. Police say shots were fired during the break-in attempt. The incident is located at Oakley Pointe in the City of Moncks Corner.

Officers arriving at the home found the man’s body in the yard.

According to the Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury the victim has been identified as 30-year-old Elijah White. An autopsy on White is schedule for 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Police say a woman who was seen at the time left in a vehicle.

Ollic said detectives are interviewing the family in the home.
