West Ashley, SC (WCBD) – Firefighters managed to extinguish a fire at Swig & Swine Monday morning before the flames became out of control.

When firefighters arrived around 7:20 a.m. they could see smoke and flames coming from the front room of the structure that contains a large smoker.

Fire crews were able to extinguish and contain the fire, preventing it from spreading into the primary building.

Swig & Swine had staff at the restaurant throughout the night monitoring the smoker operation, but discovered the unit producing excessive smoke this morning before flames erupted.

The Charleston Fire Department says the fire damage was limited to the front room, which is a screened enclosure housing the smoker unit.

No injuries were reported.
