SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Charleston Southern football season ended in a 15-14 loss to Wofford in the opening round of the FCS Playoffs.
The Bucs’ had a chance to win the game, but Shane Bucenell threw an interception with under two minutes to play, allowing Wofford to run out the clock and advance to play The Citadel on Saturday, December 3 at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
The loss marks the end of a tumultuous season for Charleston Southern.
The Buccaneers endured mass suspensions, a hurricane that resulted in three weeks between games, and key injuries to their starting quarterback and offensive line but Jamey Chadwell’s team still managed to capture a share of the Co-Big South Championship and the automatic FCS playoff bid.
