Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade celebrates 90th year


NEW YORK (AP) – They’ll be lining the streets of Manhattan today for the 90th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Taking part in the parade this morning will be about a dozen marching bands, some 1,000 clowns and giant balloons, including Charlie Brown, Hello Kitty and SpongeBob SquarePants.

They’ll make their way through city streets and will finish up at Macy’s flagship store.

Some of the celebrities joining in today are Tony Bennett, Sarah McLachlan and Olympic gold medalists Laurie Hernandez, Claressa Shields and Michelle Carter.
