SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. (AP) – Officials say an old French military aircraft flipped upside down while landing on a private airstrip in Simpsonville, slightly injuring the pilot.
Multiple media outlets reported that rescue workers were called to the Parker Field Airport about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials said the 1958 plane experienced a problem landing, which caused the aircraft to flip onto its roof in the middle of the grassy field.
A Greenville County sheriff’s deputy said the pilot suffered only minor injuries. No one else was on the plane.
The airstrip is located near the Laurens-Greenville county line.
