Man charged with obstruction of justice following deadly Summerville shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A North Charleston man is arrested following a deadly shooting at a Summerville Hotel, but he’s not charged with murder.

Nineteen-year-old Khaalis Kindu Jackson was found dead Friday, November 18 at the Econo Lodge on Holiday Drive. A woman also suffered from gunshot wounds. She survived the incident.

The woman’s boyfriend, 26-year-old Kyron Hartwell, is facing obstruction of justice charges. Authorities say he provided “misleading information” about his involvement.

Summerville Police say no one is wanted at this time.
