NORTH CHARLESTON — Over 160 employees from South Carolina Electic and Gas participated in the 2016 Trident United Way’s Annual Day of Caring.
All divisions participated in a variety of service opportunities for Water Mission, the Christian engineering nonprofit that designs, builds, and implements safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas.
One of the major projects was painting a 100 ft. Water Mission logo on the roof of its Navy Base warehouse, home to its global headquarters. The logo is large enough to be visible on Google Earth.
Other service activities ranged from exterior landscaping and maintenance to interior tasks. In addition, first-time volunteers will took a tour of the facility to learn more about the nonprofit’s safe water and sanitation treatment systems that are installed around the world.
