GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WBTW) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 69-year-old man Thursday following a sexual assault complaint.

James A. Gabella, 69, of Georgetown, is charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of kidnapping.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Alma D. Sierra says officers responded to Georgetown Tidelands Memorial Hospital Thursday, November 17 in response to a sexual assault complaint.

The victim told investigators she went to the man’s home for a “house cleaning job”.  Once inside, he showed a weapon and forced her into a sexual battery.

He was arrested without incident. Gabella remains in custody at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
