MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCBD) – The Mount Pleasant Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding two teenage boys who ran away over the weekend.
15-year-old Avery Lites and 16-year-old Vance Powers were last seen early Sunday morning.
The boys’ parents want them home. “We’re all hurting, but that’s not really our focus” said John Lites, Avery’s father. “We just need to make sure they get home safe,” he added.
The parents have no idea where the teens would have gone, but they believe the two spent one of their first runaway nights at their church on Isle of Palms. “I don’t think the boys realize how much they’re loved by so, so many people,” said Melinda Powers, Vance’s mother.
Both teens excel at school and live comfortably, according to their parents. They believe the boys’ friends at school may know what they had planned. “Whatever tidbit you have or may be your kids have,” said Rick Powers, “we want to hear it.”
“Please,” said Ave Christine Lites, “please come home.”
The pair is possibly together and maybe in a 2008 Ford Expedition with SC tag EIU 324.
