SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Due to a low number of in-person applicants the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at Miles Road Baptist Church Family Life Center will close at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22.
The DRC will be open during the below hours until Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
- Monday – Friday- 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.
- Saturday- 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Sunday – Closed
Homeowners and renters who had/have damage to their homes, vehicles or personal property as a result of Hurricane Matthew are eligible to apply for FEMA assistance. Disaster assistance may include grants to help pay for rent, home repairs to primary residences, uninsured and underinsured personal property losses, and medical, dental, childcare and funeral expenses caused by the disaster.
To expedite the claims process, citizens should be prepared to provide the following information:
- Full address of damaged property
- Directions to damaged property
- Current condition of damaged home/office etc.
- Insurance info, if available
- Social Security number
- Phone number where you can be contacted
- Mailing Address (if different from the above)
Citizens can also register online at http://www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362 or TTY 1-800-462-7585. If citizens use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS) they should call 1-800-621-3362 for assistance. Operators are multilingual and calls are answered seven days a week from 7 a.m.– 10 p.m. CST.
The deadline to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance or Small Business Administration Disaster Loans is December 13, 2016.
