L.D. Kichler issued a recall Thursday for Krystal Ice ceiling fixtures that have been sold at Lowes and lighting showrooms from January to August of 2016.
The 68,600 fixtures sold in the U.S. come with 40-watt halogen bulbs that burn too hot for the electrical wires, posing a fire threat.
There have been no incidents reported at this time.

Consumers should immediately stop using their fixtures. Those with home electrical wiring updated after 1985 can contact Kichler for free 25-watt bulbs and warning labels. Owners of homes with wiring that has not been updated since 1985 should contact the company for a full refund.
