CHARLESTON, S.C.(WCBD)– This election cycle was anything but predictable but polling data from the area shows consistency with years past.
This year, 55 percent of voters in Berkeley County voted for Donald Trump and 38 percent cast their ballots for Hillary Clinton. Berkeley County’s 2012 results were similar, 55 percent of votes went to Romney and 40% went to Obama.
In Dorchester County, 55 percent of votes were for Donald Trump and only 38 percent were for Hillary Clinton. Those numbers are just slightly off from the last election cycle. In 2012, 54 percent of votes went to Romney and 40 percent of people voted for Obama.
Charleston County is the only area in the Tri-County that was a win for Hillary Clinton. 50 percent of votes went to Clinton, the same percentage of votes that went to Obama in 2012.
