CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — A tax increase is on the ballot this month for Charleston County.
The proposal, which asks for a half penny sales tax increase for the next 25 years, will be discussed in a press conference at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Mayor John Tecklenburg and former Mayor Joe Riley will be among several Charleston leaders attending in support of the plan. The conference that will be held at 8:00 a.m. will discuss projects the estimated $2.1 raised will support.
