Woman dies inside house fire, no smoke detectors inside home

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) – Authorities say a 64-year-old woman has died in a house fire in Lexington County.

Officials said in a news release that firefighters searching the home as they fought the blaze around 11:45 p.m. Sunday found someone inside and brought them out.

The coroner’s office says Rosemary Cseh could not be revived at the scene and an autopsy determined she died from inhaling smoke and carbon monoxide from the fire.

Firefighters say there was no working smoke alarms inside the home and the fire did $45,000 damage to the house near Red Bank.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
