Students violate drug policy at Dorchester County school

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — Several elementary school students are facing disciplinary action for violating a school drug policy, Monday afternoon.

Pat Raynor, district spokeswoman, said the students at Eagle’s Nest Elementary were accused of having sugar mixed with kool-aid — to resemble drugs.

According to the student handbook:

No student will market or distribute any substance which is represented to be or is substantial similar in color, shape, size or markings of a controlled substance … Look-alike substance or substances that mimic the effect of drugs will be treated as illegal substances.

Due to the children’s ages, the disciplinary actions the students are facing has not been released.
