Middle school raising money to help students visit Washington, D.C.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A local middle school needs your help making dreams come true for 100 students.

A small group of teachers created a leadership club at Northwoods Middle School.  The group is now raising money to take 100 students to Washington, D.C. to explore the historical sites of the city as well as Georgetown and Howard Universities.

Organizers hope the trip will open the students’ eyes to the many opportunities available to them through education.

We’re told through a variety of activities, students will also set future goals to begin planning for their own futures.

The team hopes to raise $30,000.
