2 people displaced after downtown house fire

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)-  Emergency crews have left the scene of a structure fire on Boyle Court, near the 700 Meeting Street in downtown Charleston.

Emergency personnel with Charleston, North Charleston, Saint Andrews and James Island Fire Departments, along with Charleston County EMS and the Charleston Police Department responded to the fire.

Crews fought the fire coming from the vacant structure. The fire quickly extended to a nearby home, displacing two adults. The Red Cross is assisting those two people.

According to Charleston County Dispatch, the call came in at 5:48 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

There are no reported injuries at this time, according to Charleston Fire officials.

The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal Division.
