Superheroes take on MUSC

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — There were some superhero guests at MUSC Children’s Hospital, Monday morning.

Members of Mount Pleasant Police Department’s SWAT Team dressed up as superheroes and propelled down the side of the building.

Kids were packed in the atrium to watch as batman, superman, flash, a teenage mutant ninja turtle, and spiderman, scaled the glass windows, waving to everyone inside.

“We did the event the first year and went up to visit the kids it meant so much to us we had to make it an annual thing,” said Lt. Justin Hembree with the Mount Pleasant Police Department.  “It’s so important to us that the kids that can’t get out for Halloween were able to see the superheroes. We get as much out of it as they do.”

This is the third year that these superheroes have made an appearance at MUSC.
