Police identify victim in North Charleston shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Authorities are investigating a shooting in North Charleston that happened on Monday afternoon.

According to the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch, North Charleston Police and Charleston County EMS responded to the 1900 block of Grayson Street (near Atlantic Street)  at 4:19 p.m. on October 31 in reference to the incident.

Officers discovered the victim, lying face down in front of an apartment. He was later identified as Antonio Patterson, 25.

As police walked up, they say several black men were seen reaching into the victim’s pockets before running away from the area.

According to North Charleston Police, Patterson had a gunshot wound in his left buttock and lower back.

Police spokesman Spencer Pryor says medics transported Patterson to the Medical University of South Carolina for treatment. No suspect(s) has been arrested at this time.
