Motorcyclist killed following crash on James Island

UPDATE- Authorities have identified the victim of the crash as 62-year-old Thomas Dunleavy from Charleston.

He died on the scene from injuries sustained during the crash.

CPD is investigating the incident.

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) — Anthony Marino, the man charged with reckless homicide Friday night after a deadly car crash, was issued a $50,000 surety bond by a Judge Saturday.

According to police spokesman Charles Francis, the accident at Fort Johnson Road and Camp Road, involving a vehicle and a motorcyclist, took place just before 7 p.m., on October 28. We’re told the motorcyclist was pronounced dead. Investigators are still working to determine what led to the collision.

Anthony Marino, 26, of Daniel Island was arrested and charged with reckless homicide.

Traffic was being rerouted around the accident scene for a short time.  As of 11:21 p.m. the road was back open to traffic.
