Shots fired after argument on Johns Island

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after reports of shots fired over the weekend. 

According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s office, it happened just after 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, on Traywick Avenue. Sheriff’s officials say when deputies arrived on the scene, they learned that two men were involved in a verbal argument that escalated in to a physical altercation.

 One of the men, who was also the homeowner, waved around a firearm and discharged it in a manner that he described as “firing warning shots.” 

The other man involved in the altercation fled the scene prior to our deputies arrival. 

No arrests have been made.
