On Monday, Principal Judy Beard released a statement saying:

Da’Vieona Hamilton was a special part of our Sanders-Clyde School community, and her passing is extremely hard on all of us. Her classmates and friends, along with our staff, are grieving right now.

We hope everyone in the community is truly focused on praying for Da’Vieona’s family. Their pain is unimaginable, so we will do whatever we can to support them.

Our school won’t be able to see Da’Vieona’s light in person anymore, and that hurts beyond compare. But we know her light is shining in a much better place now.
