NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — More than 1500 people attended the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.
The 5K walk was held at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. Organizers say they have raised more than $100,000 from Saturday’s event and are stil counting donations.
The opening ceremony served as a time to inspire Making Strides event participants to take action and symbolizes the uplifting and energizing commitment they have made in making sure that no one will ever face battling breast cancer alone.
Last year, 1,400 people participated in the walk and raised $120,000.
