NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A meeting is being held in November to talk about a possible new committee to ease tensions in the City.
The proposal for the “North Charleston Citizens’ Advisory Commission on Community and Police Relations” is designed to help improve relationships between police and the community.
This proposal started last year following the deadly shooting of Walter Scott by former North Charleston officer Michael Slager.
The meeting is happening November 3 at Royal Baptist Church from 6 — 8 p.m.
It will be presented by the Department of Justice Community Relations Office.
