CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Charleston has been voted as the number one small city destination in the U.S. by the 2016 Condé Nast Travel Readers’ Choice Awards for the sixth consecutive year.
According to Charleston CVB, a record of 300,000 people voted in the annual Readers’ Choice Awards. Charleston earned a combined score of 90.25 in the categories of culture, friendliness, atmosphere, restaurants, lodging and shopping.
In the article where CondéNast Traveler lists the top ranked cities, Charleston is recognized for its beautiful gardens, vibrant houses on Rainbow Row, cobblestone streets, dynamic food and theater scenes, and the historic City Market.
Among the other top ranked cities include Aspen, Colorado and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
