The Citadel knocks off Chattanooga, takes control of SoCon

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0) relied heavily on their ground game, running past No. 3 Chattanooga 22-14 in a matchup between the two best schools in the Southern Conference.

The 9th ranked Bulldogs rushed for 342 yards with Dominique Allen leading the charge with 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The top-ten showdown featured the highest ranked matchup at Johnson Hagood Stadium since 1992.

Brent Thompson’s team is now the one of three to remain undefeated in FCS football.

The Bulldogs now have a one-game lead over Chattanooga in the Southern Conference standings.
