SC inmate mistakenly released

GREENWOOD, SC (WSPA) – Deputies in Greenwood County say they are searching for an inmate who was mistakenly released from jail, Monday evening.

Timothy Ledavis Williams was released after he received a nine-year prison sentence on drug and weapons charges.

Williams pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon during a violent crime, manufacturing/distribution of cocaine base and possession of less than 28 grams of marijuana, according to online court records.

The sheriff’s office says staff misread his sentencing sheet and he was released after returning from court.

Anyone with information on the location of Williams is asked to call 911 or 864-942-8632.
