Explosion reported at electrical substation in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — Emergency crews are responding to an explosion in Georgetown County.

According to County spokeswoman Jackie Broach, the explosion took place at a substation located at Saints Delight and Pennyroyal Rds.

We’re told the explosion happened when it was re-energized.

No injuries were reported. The local utility company is on the way, Broach added.
