Free meals available in Georgetown Co. on Monday


GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — Free hot meals will be served to those in need on Monday at 3:00 p.m. at various locations throughout Georgetown County.

Free Meal Locations

  • Dunbar Community Center, 1960 Dunbar Rd.
  • Andrews Recreation Center, 510 W. Alder St.
  • North Santee Community Center, 1484 Mt. Zion Ave.
  • Georgetown Middle School, 2400 Anthuan Maybank Dr.

Starting at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, the Town of Pawleys Island will open up to residents and their contractors only. You must have proper identification to enter. The checkpoint to get on the island will be the North Causeway.

Portions of the county are under a boil water advisory as a preventative measure. Boil water advisories are distributed if there is actual or the strong possibility of bacterial contamination in the drinking water system that could make you sick.

Advisory areas include:

  • North Litchfield
  • South Litchfield
  • Prince George Oceanfront
  • DeBordieu Oceanfront
  • Pawleys Plantation
  • Plantersville Community
  • Red Hill Community (Highway 51 and Browns Ferry)

Water and sewer representatives started testing the water on Sunday and will continue to do so through Tuesday.
