Man asks for hugs, fondles woman in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) —  The Charleston Police Department has identified the man who is believed to have committed two assaults in downtown Charleston on Monday, October 3.

According to Charleston Police, the man has been identified at Bob Drayton, 40, of North Charleston.

Authorities say the first assault took place at  11:45 a.m. at the Charleston School of Law. 

Drayton asked the victim for a hug while in the elevator.  He then fled on foot.

The second incident took place near 285 Meeting Street.

Investigators say Drayton asked the victim in that case for a hug as well.  He then fondled her and fled on Meeting Street around 4:30 p.m.
