CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Due to concerns over Hurricane Matthew’s potential impact on the Lowcountry, Charleston Southern has moved its home football game against Albany State to Thursday night at 7 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday at 11:45 a.m. Tickets are still available at csusports.com and through the CSU Ticket Office at 843-863-7213.
Matthew is currently a Category 4 hurricane that has prompted officials in Charleston, Beaufort, Georgetown and Horry counties to move to alert status. Even if Matthew remains at sea, forecasters with the National Weather Service predict it could bring strong rain, wind and flooding to South Carolina.
The Albany State game is the first of a four-game homestand at Buccaneer Field. CSU is 16-2 at home, with eight straight wins, under Jamey Chadwell. The Bucs are coming off a 59-58 double overtime victory at rival Coastal Carolina this past Saturday.
