Orangeburg Co. investigators search for man who stole $5,000 worth of lawn equipment

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCBD) — Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators are searching for the man suspected of stealing thousands of dollars worth of lawn equipment.

Around Aug. 29 the owner of the lawn vehicles reported the items missing after having left them in the care of a now-former employee. Over the weekend, investigators developed information that led to the discovery of an orange SCAG-brand zero-turn mower and a Club Car golf cart with SS mag wheels, worth about $5,000.

The stolen equipment is being processed for evidence and will be returned to the owner.

Investigators are seeking Demetric Duley, 33, of Orangeburg of a warrant for larceny.

If anyone has any information on Duley’s whereabouts, they are asked to call the OCSO at 803-534-3550 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
