Man sues Georgia jail after he says he was injured after being tased

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A Georgia man has filed a lawsuit against the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

In video and lawsuit obtained by our affiliate at WSB-TV in Atlanta, you can see Carlos Seals standing against a wall in the Richmond County jail with his hands behind his back when Deputy Donnie Crawford tased him, causing a severe head injury.

The initial police report says Seals was being combative and would not comply.

Seals say he was using profanity toward the officers, but when they told him to get up against the wall he did.

The incident dates back to August 30, 2015.

The sheriff’s office is not commenting but did say they fired Deputy Crawford after reviewing of the tape.

Seals have more than $20,000 in medical bills.
