Hope Walk Against Domestic Violence; raising awareness to #1 crime in S.C

Charleston S.C (WCBD)- South Carolina State Representative Wendell Gilliard, Project Unity USA, and REALMAD (Real Men against Domestic Violence / Abuse) along with local Community leaders and advocates joined forces to sponsor a Hope Walk against Domestic Violence. It’s an event to bring awareness to the number 1 crime in the state of South Carolina and help support victims in a crisis situation.

Before the walk began on the Ravenel Bridge, victims spoke out and told their stories of survival. Some of the speakers at the Hope Walk was Mayor John Tecklenburg, Charleston City Police Chief Greg Mullen, and Michele Messer Survivor

The tri-county area only has one shelter for victims of domestic violence and when its full victims have no options. This walk will help the group raise money and awareness to provide options to victims of Domestic Violence.
