SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) — The Summerville Police Department arrested a man attempting to break into vehicles at a local high school.
Savon D. Hoe, 22, of North Charleston, is charged with four counts of tampering with an automobile and one count of loitering. He’s being held at Dorchester County Detention Center while he awaits bond hearing which is scheduled for October 4.
On Thursday, September 22, Summerville High security officers notified the police department of someone trying to break into vehicles in the senior parking lot of the school.
After making eye contact with authorities, Hoe began to run into the woods toward Greenwave Boulevard, according to a police report.
He was found hiding in the wooded area between the Dorchester District 2 Offices and Summerville High School. Hoe was then arrested without incident.
School officials told authorities a number of vehicles were broken into over the past few days.
