Police: Men injured in Summerville shooting refuse to cooperate with investigators


SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) — The Summerville Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on Wednesday evening.

According to Lieutenant Cassandra Williams with the Summerville Police Department, at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, authorities responded to a shooting at 1170 Boone Hill Road.

Officers spoke with one of the victims at the scene, Tonez Wilson, 18, of Walterboro. According to police, he suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and a graze to the head.

Officers later conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that left the scene, and discovered a second victim, Carlo Rattley, 24, of Boonehill Road. Police say he had multiple gunshot wounds to his leg.

According to witnesses, Deangelo Manigo, 18, of Summerville, Wilson and Rattley were involved in a physical altercation with a group of men when shots were fired. Police say the three men refused to cooperate with investigators or disclose any information.

Rattley and Wilson were taken to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
