Bicyclist killed in wreck on I-26 in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.  (WCBD) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly wreck involving a bicyclist in North Charleston.

According to SC Highway Patrol Troopers, it happened on I-26 eastbound near the Montague exit around 4 a.m. Tuesday, September 20. Two units, a Ford Explorer, and a bicyclist were involved.

Troopers say the driver of the Ford was traveling east, when the vehicle struck Henry Chestnut, 33, of North Charleston, who was also traveling east.

The driver of the vehicle did not have any injuries and was wearing a seat belt at the time. Chestnut was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
